  • BMW said sales grew 19.2 pct to 13.778 bln eur, exceeding forecasts, while net profit flattered by tax effects jumped nearly 78 pct to 803 mln eur, again above expectations. Analysts polled by Thomson Financial News had on average forecast pretax profit to grow 28 pct to 918 mln eur, with sales increasing to 12.808 bln eur from the year earlier level of 11.088 bln and net profit at 628 mln from 452 mln.
